I brought Eli in to the pediatrician today. The doctor said his throat is covered in pus, which explains the fever, dis-interest in eating, and why he is sucking on his fingers and drooling. Apparently, he’s not teething after all. The good news is that his swab was negative for strep throat. He appears to be fighting off another virus. The doctor did do a throat culture to send away to the lab since we will be having a newborn in our house very soon. We should have those results late in the day on Friday. I’m so sad that he is sick and that I have to leave him with someone else while I’m sick. Hopefully, he’ll start feeling better very soon.

That is hard, Kimi. I will be praying whatever virus this is will DISAPPEAR before you get home with your daughter. Poor kid—what is it about the Davis genese and kids getting sick?! =/ Think about it this way, though—As much as you’ll miss Eli while you’re at the hospital, just try to enjoy the time to “yourself” and let people wait on you. I really enjoyed my time there and felt like it was a little “retreat” before I had to go home to two little kids. Just food for thought. Praying for everything to just go as smoothly as possible. I can’t WAIT to hear updates and see this little cutie pie! Give Eli a kiss for me (on his cheek) =). Love, Proud Auntie Andee
How difficult! We will be praying for all of you tonight, that Eli will be OK with you gone, that Baby Girl will arrive safe and healthy, and that the two of you will experience God’s joy and blessing in the days to come. We’re excited and ready to help if we can!
